News for Anime USA 2011:

Matenrou Opera to perform at Anime USA 2011 in first US appearance

CRYSTAL CITY, VA - Anime USA is proud to present Matenrou Opera in their first US appearance on November 18-20 2011 at the Regency Hyatt in Crystal City Virginia.

Described as "Symphonic Modern Rock Opera" - Vocalist 苑 (Sono), Drummer 悠 (Yu), Guitar Anzi, Keyboard 彩雨 (Ayame), and Bass 燿 (Yo) make up Matenrou Opera. This group has been on fire since the moment of their inception in late 2007. Started by vocalist Sono with drummer Yu from the band Jeniva, Matenrou Opera swept the visual kei underground scene by storm with their very first single "Alkaloid Showcase" which sold out the day of its release.

Matenrou Opera has many different faces - one that embodies the "Cool Metropolis" and the other which takes on a classical yet melodic persona. Shortly after releasing their first single, the band was signed to Sherow Artist Society, an independent label run by KAMIJO from Versailles. When their third single "Ruriiro de egaku niji" was released, Matenrou Opera embarked on their very first European Tour; 6 shows in 5 countries. The band released their mini-album "GILIA" in Japan and Europe at the same time. Having appeared on such shows as Music Japan Plus TV and Fuji TV, they have made quite a name for themselves.

As well as having played alongside such bands as Versailles, Kaya, Daisy Stripper, DELUHI, and heidi, it is no wonder that 2010 saw the signing of Matenrou Opera to King Records, thus breaking Matenrou Opera away from the indies scene and into the major arena. Their first major recording was "Abyss," released in December 22 2010. Now with their latest release as the first Major maxi single under King Records,"Helios" in July 8th 2011, it is obvious that Matenrou Opera has what it takes to make it to the top.

AnimeUSA will mark Matenrou Opera's first US appearance.

Matenrou Opera is also set to perform the famous V-Rock Festival this October 2011 at the Saitama Super-Arena in Saitama, Japan alongside such bands as Gackt, MUCC, girugamesh, SuG, ViViD, LM.C, D=Out and more.
