Science Fiction Convention
SiliCon 2007 is a NPO multi-media Sci-Fi/Anime/Comic convention that benefits the Diabetes Research. We are making a big effort to represent a wide variety of fandom for the attendees. SiliCon is not your average convention, we have tons of great programming and events to appeal to a wide range of fans. Some of the events we have planned are a full blown Independent Film Festival, Costume Contest, Live Rocky Horror performance, Fan Swap Meet, SFX workshops, Formal Masquerade Ball, Belly Dancing demonstration, sci-fi and hard science panels, Paranormal Seminars, Gaming Tournaments, Portfolio Reviews, Kei/Lolita Fashion Show, Comic Jam, and tons more. Some guests already confirmed: Barbara Hambly, Steve Englehart, Molly Kiely, Dame Darcy, Jim Mahfood, Lela, Dowling, and Mark Bode. We have podcasters Jenni Moody from Phantom Power Comics and Lene Taylor of "I Read Comics" joining us among other internet websites like Entertainment Junkies and Horror Yearbook.com. We support a very deserving charity and encourage science education.
