Dawn Humphrey
Podcaster
Austin, TX, USA
Biography:
Dawn Humphrey is a podcaster, critic, horror enthusiast, pop culture consumer, and a jack of many nerd activities. A life-long performer, she graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in Theatre and Dance before moving to Austin, TX where she joined and co-ran female-fronted Vestige Group theatre company acting as production manager, accountant, stage manager, and occasional designer.
Along with Jen Brown, she founded, produces and hosts the Women In Caskets podcast (part of the Bloody Disgusting Network), examining the good, the bad and the sometimes perplexing world of horror though a feminist lens, as well as talking with guests including Anna Biller, Dana DeLorenzo, Ethan Embry and Macon Blair. She also writes, produces and hosts the recurring side-venture of So You Don't Have To as a part of the Women In Horror brand, bravely shining an even brighter light on some of horror's less than successful film offerings. She has also spoken on several convention panels on various topics from religion in horror, the role of librarians in the media and why kids are so creepy.
You can also catch her occasionally live-streaming video games (twitch.tv/dawnpuppet), playing D&D, or hunting about the internet for the next podcast topic and tweeting nonsense at @dawnpuppet.
