Cosplayer
Canada
Biography:
Crafting for the last five years and being a diehard anime fan for twice that long, Aby, more popularly known as Concussion_Cosplay, specializes in full-body builds of all sorts, from organic and visceral to futuristic and sleek. Combining his anatomical expertise and creative use of all kinds of out-of-the-box materials on a budget, Aby has created award-winning costumes that always glow bright (with LEDs)! With experience planning massive photoshoots, hosting events and panels, judging, guesting, and competing, he loves getting involved and connecting with the community. For Aby, cosplay is more than just building a costume. It is a means to build on himself, integrating all the best aspects of his heroes into himself. Every project is another opportunity to get ever closer to those shounen ideals, and Aby pours his heart and soul into every cosplay, big or small. In his quest to become a real-life protagonist, Aby is hard at work pursuing his Doctor of Chiropractic, with an interest in concussion rehabilitation and weight training. He previously studied neuroscience at the University of Toronto, trying to grapple with how one can enter the ZONE from Kuroko no Basket (it's a work in progress). He enjoys coaching youth rugby, hosting cosplay crafting workshops and events with the University of Toronto, playing basketball and rugby, and camping. His various accolades include:
