News for Animation On Display 2011:

Animation On Display adds two more guests

San Francisco, CA, January 31, 2011- Animation On Display (AOD), San Francisco's convention for anime, video games, and other cool stuff, will be back Presidents Day Weekend (2/19-2/20) in San Francisco's Japantown! We are pleased to announce the appearance of the following guests of honor:

James Harper, Actor
JAMES HARPER originated the role of the villainous Emperor Arcturus Mengsk in Blizzard Entertainment's iconic video game, StarCraft, 14 years ago, reprised it in StarCraft: Brood War, then returned for the much-anticipated, 2010 award-winning sequel, StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, one of video gaming's all-time biggest-selling games. Other animation voice credits include Blizzard's Diablo II (The Wanderer, Tal Rasha & Griesz) and the TV series, Trigun (several voices & episodes), among others. Mr. Harper is an award-winning, classically trained (The Juilliard School) actor, whose credits include major roles in over 125 plays on Broadway, Off & Off Off Broadway, in LA and regionally. He has appeared opposite/worked with some of the legends/icons of the American stage, actors such as Kathy Bates, Jane Alexander, James Earl Jones, Kevin Kline, & Patti LuPone, and theatre artists such as John Houseman, Jerome Robbins, Leonard Bernstein, Arthur Laurents, Alfred Uhry, Santo Loquas to, John Lee Beatty and Ming Cho Lee. TV: over 200 guest star and recurring appearances (Judging Amy, Frasier, NYPD Blue, Quantum Leap, Deep Space 9, numerous daytime dramas, etc.). FILMS: 25 include working opposite the legendary Paul Newman and Russell Crowe, among others. Mr. Harper currently stars in Into the Unknown, a short film playing to great success at film festivals and currently touring the United States as part of the multi-disciplinary arts exhibition and event America: Now and Here (AmericaNowandHere.com).

A graduate of the lighting design program from Emerson College, Kevin has been working in the entertainment industry for nearly 15 years. He has worked in theater production at world class venues such as the Goodspeed Opera House, the Emerson Majestic Theater, Foxwoods Casino, and the Mohegan Sun Resort which he helped open in 1996. His television production credits include Jackass, Kids Say the Darnedest Things, Guinness Book of World Records, Krypton Factor, Farmclub.com, The 60's as well as various television commercials. His film credits include Mystery Men, For Love of the Game, and Billy Frankenstein. Kevin has also served as Assistant VP of Production for feature film producer and New York Times best-selling author Lynda Obst. Kevin's first official assignment in the Robotech universe was as an audit of Robotech's television ratings and viewer demographics during its original run in the 1980s. Kevin's analysis of the ratings in a cost effective manner along with his years of production experience made him a natural candidate for the Robotech team.

ROBOTECH INDUSTRY PANEL
Join Harmony Gold's Tommy Yune and Kevin McKeever as they showcase the latest Robotech projects. They will also remember Carl Macek, the original producer of Robotech who started this whole phenomenon. Mr. Macek's last official convention appearance was at AOD 2010.

ROBOTECH: FREE-FOR-ALL
Join Tommy Yune and Kevin McKeever for one more chance to ask any unanswered questions that you may still have.

CHARITY AUCTION
Among the many items at this year's AOD Charity Auction (benefiting the California Academy of Sciences and Audio Theater For Our Troops) will include rare Robotech memorabilia.
