Portland, Oregon August 15th, 2005
Kumoricon is pleased to bring you another three days of outstanding anime inspired entertainment in the form of theaters, panels, cosplay, gaming and a list of distinguished guests including; Joshua Seth, Greg Dean, Dr. Antonia Levi, Toshifumi Yoshida, Brad DeMoss and Bakazoku.
Kumoricon is in its third year and has experienced some amazing growth. After selling out in its second year Kumoricon has moved to a larger and more convenient location. The Doubletree Hotel & Executive Meeting Center Portland - Lloyd Center is adjacent to the fabulous Lloyd Center Mall and just blocks from the newly expanded Oregon Convention Center, the Rose Garden Arena, and Memorial Coliseum. Located only 9 miles from the Portland International Airport, the MAX lightrail system now picks up at baggage claim and drops you off directly across the street from our front door.
Kumoricon's intention is to provide a fun and interactive environment for sharing enthusiasm for learning about anime and Japanese culture, and to make our convention an enjoyable experience for as many people as possible. This year our expected attendance is 2,000-2500 people and we've planned enough to provide a good time for all.
Kumoricon 2005 will be held September 3-5, 2005 at the Doubletree Hotel & Executive Meeting Center Portland - Lloyd Center. The convention opens at 8am on Saturday, and runs until 5pm on Monday. Daily activities are expected to end around 2am. You may register online until August 19th. All persons under the age of 18 (minors) will be required to have a parental consent form completed and on hand at the convention in order to pick up his/her badge. In person registrations can be done at any Kumoricon Event.
